Description
Writing the Political or Social Play
Oct 12 - Nov 23
10:00am - 1:00pm
Instructor: Douglas Post - Founding Member of the Victory Gardens Playwrights Ensemble
This class is specifically designed for writers seeking to sharpen their skills in writing political and social theatre. We'll start each session by studying scenes by produced playwrights that have spoken to the tenor of their times and then turn our attention to the work of the participants in the room, whether that is a short play, a series of short plays or a full-length work. At the end of the class, writers will have a better sense of how to write provocative theatre that is powerful and producible.
