This is a special master class with Chicago Dramatist Resident Playwright Emilio Williams. Up to 8 playwrights will work on the final drafts of their plays. Students will be chosen by an application process. 

National Application Deadline: Midnight June 15th. 
Interviews Week of June 22nd. 

The course includes 5 zoom group workshops of 3 hours each and 2 private advisories of 30 minutes each.

4- a paragraph about your needs and hopes for your play and this class 

 

Emilio Williams is an award-winning writer and educator. His critically-acclaimed plays have been produced in Argentina, Estonia, France, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States, including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington DC. He has been a visiting artist at the University of Portland, Georgia State University, Mary Washington University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds an MFA in Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is a Resident Playwright at Chicago Dramatists where he is also a faculty member. In the fall of 2020 he will teach at Columbia College, Dominican University and Georgia State University.

Classes will be held via Zoom. Instructors will send out Zoom invites one day before class begins. We encourage students to set up a Zoom account for themselves before class if they have not already to ensure when class begins you are able to jump straight into the art!
